Feel free to add to this list if you have data on power consumption, etc. for goodies you're bringing. I figure it would be good to capture these numbers, then tweak them when we get back for use on later trips.
Water
- Usage: 2.5 gallons per person, per day (includes cooking and hygiene). After using this estimate for two years running, it appears to be right on the money.
- Evaporation pond efficiency: 1 quart per square foot per day (as per Earth Guardian's web site): 8x8' pond = 16 gal/day. This might be true for 110 degree weather with no dust storms, but in reality (at least in 2008) the evap rate turned out to be about 1/2 the estimated amount. 8x8 pond = 8 gallons per day.
- Sno-cone machine: # of cones per 5lb. bag of ice: ?
Wind
- Force (lbs/square foot) = wind speed (miles/hour)^2 x .0027
Power
- Sno-cone machine: 816W
- PA system: 300W
- Rope lights: (2) 27' rope @ 18W, (2) 18' ropes @ 6W = 48W
Fuel
- Generator GPH @ max load: ?
- Generator GPH @ 50% load: ?
Tires
- Minimum Dynamic Hydroplaning Speed (mph): 9 * sqrt(tire_pressure_psi)
