DJ Setup

Here's the DJ setup for Burning Man as I envision it:
  • Laptop (the iDJ2 isn't the best solution here so I'm going back to this)
    • Mark Demma is providing a MacBook which should work as the primary laptop.
    • Brian provided a 12" PowerBook which is running right at its limits but will be a great backup -- it will be kept safe and sealed in case the first laptop has a heat stroke.
  • Power adapters for both laptops
  • Lots of compressed air to blow playa dust out of equipment
  • Traktor 3
  • Vestax VCI-100 (USB-powered)
  • Novation Nio 2|4 (USB-powered)
  • Two USB cables
  • Wired optical trackball, spare keyboard (I give the built-in trackpad a 10 minute lifespan out there)
  • Power -- I would imagine we can run an extension cord from the RV if the generator is quiet enough.
  • Amp/speakers -- Mark Brown provided these.
  • Ground cable -- Mark Brown will provide
  • Audio cables: stereo RCA to mono 1/4"
  • Crates or pallets to put the speaker on; the Burning Man Survival Guide says speakers have to be elevated from the playa to help curtail some noise pollution.
